CADS 3750 Project Two – Blazer Jacket

Starting off the design process at Fine Fabrics in ATL with my class I was walking into endless ailes of fabric and project inspiration. I ended with this red wool fabric that had caught my eye. My blazer features princess seam stylelines down the front sides, four fisheye darts in the back to highlight the waistline in the torso, an exaggarated lapel and basic collar pattern. The blazer closes with a detachable belt that can be wrapped around or tied in the front. The sleeves are a fitted women’s cut with the length designed to match my measurements. The jacket is fully lined and the lining features a welt pocket on the right side.

How I styled it:

Starting off with the clothes. I paired this blazer design with black sheer tights and one of my personal favorite pieces in my closet, a skort that I upcycled from a size extra large loose fit romper I found at the thrift store. Moving on to one of my favorite parts of an outfit, jewerly. A recent go to of mine is this black and gold chunky necklace straight out of my mom’s jewerly box. Paired with a curation of mixed metal rings and earrings to finish off the look.
